Thirdwayv Expands Executive Team with IoT Industry Veterans, Moves Corporate Headquarters to Irvine Spectrum, California

Irvine, Calif., October 5, 2017 – Thirdwayv, a leading provider of end-to-end connectivity solutions for mission-critical IoT applications, today announced the company has moved its corporate headquarters here and expanded its senior executive team in advance of a major growth phase as customers complete development programs and prepare for large-scale product deployments using its platform. “We are positioning the company for growth both operationally and organizationally as we work with our customers to complete the development of healthcare IoT solutions that we believe will be the first of their kind to receive FDA approval,” said James Kamke, Thirdwayv chief executive officer. “Our team has deep expertise in IoT connectivity technology and the special requirements of mission-critical applications, the rounding out of our executive management team with professionals of such caliber leaves us well positioned to take advantage of the exceptional opportunities before us.”

Joining Thirdwayv as vice president of business development is Vinay Gokhale, a 30-year veteran of the wireless industry. Reporting to Kamke, he was previously vice president of global IC sales for Impinj, a leading provider of RFID solutions that connect billions of everyday items from apparel to medical supplies for applications including inventory management, asset tracking and item authentication. Before that, Gokhale was co-founder of an IoT startup, after holding senior executive positions at technology companies including Cadence Design Systems, SiRF Technologies and Conexant Systems. He has a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and received his master’s and bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California Irvine.

Also joining Thirdwayv is Andrew Lentvorski as vice president of engineering, reporting to Nabil Wasily, Thirdwayv CTO. Lentvorski has nearly 25 years of engineering staff and management experience with companies including ATI Research, Compaq and Digital Equipment Corporation, specializing in low-power microprocessor and VLSI design as well as embedded and cloud software. He received his Master of Science Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

In addition to its Irvine headquarters, Thirdwayv operates an overseas design center staffed by engineers with extensive background in wireless connectivity and “security by design” system development principles. The team has developed patent-protected technology that enables mobile phones to securely connect with and control medical devices in health monitoring, drug delivery and other safety-critical IoT-based systems. The company’s end-to-end technology and system architecture for trusted IoT environments can also be used for mission-critical secure data access applications as well as connectivity and control solutions for smart homes, businesses and factories, asset tracking, connected cars and critical infrastructure.

Thirdwayv secures peer-to-peer connectivity solutions from the hardware level up, starting with device-to-device and smartphone-to-device wireless links and connectivity and extending to the smartphone app used to control medical devices and identity management using a distributed root of trust. Its solution enables BYOD phones to serve both as cloud gateways and medical device controllers, and meets FDA safety mandates by ensuring that medical devices are always under trusted control and can receive secure over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates even when cloud connectivity is unavailable.
